Looks like Tom bringing a two tap soda station so you may be able to use that. Still, bring your stuff in case.Matt F wrote:Andrew, bring a cobra tap and charger but we may just put the soda on tap at one of the stations. I did see there is one Ginger Ale being offered by a member of THIRSTY so at least one other N/A beverage.andrewmaixner wrote:I have one soda (rootbeer) made to bring.
Is anyone else bringing soda, or other NA beverages for DDs?
Will they be set up on faucet taps, or shall I bring a picnic tap + CO2 charger for it?

Re: 2016 Festival Planning Committee
We have four club pouring stations this year. One 10 tap new bar, 8 tap old bar, 7 tap jockey box, 6 tap portable tower. We will likely use the 5 individual new corney taps that go directly on the keg also at one of the four main stations. Likely the new 6 tap tower. No committed manifold for these but can hit with CO2 from the tank at the station it is at. If this is too cumbersome we will change it up next year. Only takes a few psi to push those taps.
Couple items I am looking for feedback.
First, let me know if your kegs are Pin Lock. We have pin locks to go around. Easier if I can plan in advance for these though.
Second, I was planning to group in the following categories and it works out to only about one round of keg switches. Much simpler than before due to all the new taps.
-Hoppy and English/Amber/Brown/Dark Lager; 10 tap bar (19 drafts, 4 bottled)
-Belgian and Sour; 8 tap bar (16 drafts)
-Light and Cider, Mead, Cyser, Braggot, Other; 6 tap bar plus 5 corney taps (22 draft)
-Porter/Stout; 7 tap jockey box (15 draft, 1 bottled)
-Non-Alcoholic; 2 tap from Tom (2 root beers on our list)
Given that, I heard of some discussion of purposely not grouping by style. Helping to spread out the crowd. I can see that as beneficial too. We are sort of a democracy, so I am open to suggestion and have no personal investment in either methodology. With typical American high voter turnout, we should be able to get two opinions.
Thanks!

Re: 2016 Festival Planning Committee
Spreading it around would keep the hop heads from hanging out at one tent...
Re: 2016 Festival Planning Committee
I agree it will do that. Helps keep the line shorter at one booth. Do we find that to be a problem? There will be sour heads this year too. We have several. The question you may get sick of while pouring is do you have any IPAs?

The folks I surveyed at work think random best too. That is the way I am going now unless I am convinced the other way. Actually, I have it both ways. I wanted to start by style so that way I have an even distribution of styles available at any given time during the fest. Now they will just be in multiple locations.

The sours are limited to where they can go though. Has to be stainless. They will tear up brass and chrome.

Re: 2016 Festival Planning Committee
Spreading a style (like IPA) around will force people to walk away from the bar and move to a line at the next bar. Should help with the flow of visitors.

Sounds good. Working on a random list to spread things around. Sours can only be at the old bar with an all stainless 8 tap tower and anti-microbial tubing. Everything else should be fine.

Re: 2016 Festival Planning Committee
Here is a copy of the beers in order by brewer first name. This shows the assigned keg # for your beers. This is the number you will need to put on the toe tags we hand out at the meeting Thursday. You can write your name on there and other stuff too, but the only info we need to see to get your beer to the proper tap is the #. Make sure it is large and easy to read. Helpful if on both sides of the tag. When you put your keg in the Benz cooler lets try to have in some kind of number order so they are easy to find on fest day.
I will have some tags in the cooler for Friday in case you can't make meeting Thursday. Will also have on Saturday if you are bringing straight to the fest and no Thursday meeting for you.

Re: 2016 Festival Planning Committee
I am going to probably not be able to make the meeting on Thursday, but Roger Roger on the toe tag #'s. If anything else I'll stick the numbers on the kegs with a blue painters tape and a sharpie. Will be there right around 10 AM on Saturday, however.

Where is (this beer) located?
...Easily remidied by a master sheet or two at each station
I'd vote that there is a Franklin tap take over!
The guy who submitted a barley wine in the Furious competition...
Re: 2016 Festival Planning Committee
Yup, master sheet already printed for each bar and in a plastic sleeve for protection.
