For the trailer loading Tuesday, June 13, can we bump that back to 8pm? I will be out to dinner with my in-laws for my wife's birthday. I should be back home around 8ish.

If you still want to do 7 that is fine, I won't be home until later though. I can remove some items from the trailer and put in my garage like the tap boxes you won't need. If you have other stuff you want to leave in my garage just leave on the sidewalk by the trailer. To access the trailer you need a code to the lock on the back doors. The trailer keys are inside with keys to the side door and lock on the hitch. Randy has the code.

Looks like one of my beers got dropped from our list. If there's still room I have the "Crouching Lion, Hidden Kitten" Lemongrass-Basil Pale Ale ready to go. I have NHC grog tags and signs made up for both.

Can anyone advise whether there's still room to add this one to our haul?

Can anyone pull the trailer up for the conference? Jim's truck needs to spend some time in the shop for some significant work and can no longer tow the trailer. We are looking for someone willing to pull the trailer. It is not big. It is 12' long and weighs less than 2,000 lbs. Most vehicles with a full size receiver hitch should be able to pull it. Club will pay for your gas and parking.

As far as keg count goes, per Randy's request, I am only bringing 2 beers.

In case any of you are wondering, a routine oil change this morning turned into a new u-joint for the front right axle.

That's what I get for having my truck inspected.

I think we all survived and are home safe and sound. Once we worked out some "issues" with the bar equipment, Club Night went great! We were the 1st bar you saw when you walked into the hall. Needless to say we got slammed right out of the gate! Poured a LOT of beer. FYF was the 1st keg to blow. Several others either followed or were almost empty. Same story at the Social Club - 1st club to set up and pour on opening day, so we were "popular." Lots of compliments on our beers/meads, etc.

The only sad news of the trip - Pat didn't medal with his mead. But, Scott Schar from REFS is Mead Maker of the Year.

Think we convince some of the IBU crew to come to our Festival. Need to followup after they've sobered up!

Nice! Sucks that Pat didn't medal, but pretty cool that it went to a fellow Iowan won!

Good to know about IBU! Now we can hound them, Haha!

And evenmore importantly, IBU agreed to bring along their pig tap box.

I have a door prize coming for our fest. The Brew-Bag guy is going to donate a prize. A bag of some sort. Haven't worked out the details yet. If anything else it could be a random prize for the other brewers. Maybe we should buy a few more small but cool stuff to give away as well, or work other vendors?

So.. hey.. when can we get our kegs from the trailer? I need to get them before next Wednesday.

The bars are a mess.

The larger bar is in better shape, but it needs the casters moved further from the ends of the bar (closer to the middle). The bar is long enough that the middle of it hangs up on the ramp. If there is interest in moving the wheels I also suggest we lower the overall height of the bar. The big bar has enough internal framework it would be easy to string a couple of boards across it that are not flush with the bottom of the bar, and mount the casters on this board.

The small bar needs new casters, it is currently sliding on skids. It needs larger casters. Now that this bar is permanently set up I suggest we get give its underside a treatment like mentioned above in the big bar.

I do not remember seeing the tap box in the trailer. Does anybody remember seeing the tap box in the trailer? If it is not in the trailer, and nobody has it we may be screwed for pouring this weekend. Did anybody take the lead on this?

The tap box is in Matt's garage. We removed it from the trailer to make room for other luggage and kegs.

Agreed the bars are a mess. I can help clean and repair this weekend.

Don't forget the debacle of the multiple leaking plastic tubs! They should all be replaced with something much more durable - galvanized steel maybe?

And the batteries for the pumps need to be charged. One of them was dead as a door nail when we hooked it up. Ended up running both pumps off one battery. Got us through the night, but was just another last minute PITA that we didn't need.

While we're working on the bars, do we want to fill in that hole on the right side of the new bar? Several folks pointed it out while we were pouring. Even if we want it there, can we make a plug for the hole when we aren't running things through it?

Saw this picture in the latest AHA email and had to chuckle. Look who's on the aisle on the right. And the blue shirt sleeve in the seat in front of him would be Mr. Jim Fuller.
