I wanted to thank everyone who participated in the BrewBQ yesterday. As usual we had a great crew and huge turnout. We had a pretty sweet shelter they set us up with, and by the end of the day we were all trading home brew for BBQ... I love the barter system!

The overall BrewBQ was relatively small, I think there were roughly 350-400 folks there. Hub and Old Man River brewing were the only micros there, but the nice part is we were not overwhelmed with the amount of people, we still had beer left..and there was even time for some banter from Kurt with the patrons.

I think we even did so good, there was some tipping of our bartenders!!

Travis, any word on the voting? I think we had a few beers that were very popular.

Just got word:

Clear #1 choice for our brew tasters this year was the Blue Paw Wheat Ale from Sea Dog Brewing Company (Maine). Coming in at #2 was one of the home brews from Cedar Rapids Beer Nuts, St. Larry Mt. Dew It. Also very popular from the Cedar Rapids Beer Nuts were; Double D's Dubbel, Hefeweizen, Cascadian Dark Ale, and Watermelon Blonde.

Old Man River Brewery in McGregor had the 4th most popular beer with their Dunkel. Their Weizen beer was another favorite. Several Millstream beers were popular, but it was their Root Beer that garnered quite a few votes.

Can’t believe the commercial got us… but I can live that I pulled a second with the green brew. Just shows the independence market likes the fruity brew.

Thanks again to everyone who participated, I had most fun hanging at our booth drinking our own home brews! But they need to make that awning taller!!!!

I woulda done better but my biggest fan got hauled out by the cops before he could vote. On a whole the club woulda done better if our fans wouldn't have gotten too drunk to remember to vote.
