I have room for one in my fridge.

Did get me thinking. Anyone ever trade a keg of homebrew for another keg of homebrew? Sort of like when brewpubs have guest taps for other brewpubs.

I've never heard of such a thing, but that is a genius suggestion. I'd be up for a homebrew keg swap, since it's just as easy to make 10 gallons as 5.

Benz Success! and much thanks.

Post by Mr T »

Fellow Beer Nuts,

I want to personally thank everyone for such a great success this years event was. Yeah, it was cold, yeah it was wet, yeah there was less people than last year.. BUT.. we way stepped it up this year and its bar far our personal best as a club.

This year we not only beat our record on the amount of beer/kegs brought but we also had our first sale of club merchandise and of course the new tap box/bar "ahhhh, light shinning from the beer gods".

Although attendance was down from last year, which was over 1K, they still projected 800ish in attendance, so we still got plenty of face time in our home town, which in my opinion is currently our premier event since its the only event we do actually in Cedar Rapids.

I want to thank so many people for making this such a great success, everyone from bringing beer, parts, food, donations, time, shirts, orders, pouring, etc.. the list goes on how much of all of you have contributed but I want to send a special thanks to Jim "potsy" for helping spearhead the new bar which I've been nagging at getting done now for almost 2 years. I now we have some more polishing up.. and drying out after Saturday, but I think were off to a great start and the tap box is going to be an incredible investment for the club. Thanks again Jim, and all of you that helped make the tap box happen.

Remember all, next meeting is at the Long Branch again, hopefully we will see a few new faces, make them welcomed!

I think the beer I had at your guy's tent was better than the other commercial ones. I look forward to chatting with you all tomorrow at longbranch.
