I do have tap 1 on Bar 1. Was trying to figure out a way to get a tapping at 2:00 and 4:00 so just stick one of mine on there for an hour.

Racked FYF IPA tonight from secondary on to hops in the keg. Those are all hops on the bottom of the carboy. Smells good.

This year's FYF IPA has 20.5 oz of hops in the 5 gallon batch. No Citra, Mosaic, Eldorado, Azzaca, etc... Left out the newer sexy hops this year unlike past years where it was mostly the latest and greatest. This years is heavy on some classics like Columbus, Chinook, Centennial, Amarillo, Simcoe, and some Apollo for that extra touch of dank.

For rain, don't worry too much yet. It is Tuesday and this is Iowa. My app says 90% chance so solid chance of rain. That means it could be any where from 0% to 100% by Saturday. We have a lot of canopies at Benz to use and will setup all we have. One of our earlier years we did the a festival at Benz in the rain and it ended up being a blast. Looked like a shanty town. Fest goes on rain or shine and we will set up every and any canopy at our disposal. If you have a canopy to share, bring it along. The more the merrier.
Benz has 27 tents, so we have a place to hide if it rains. No worries there.

I believe this is the right way to go this year. Spread the love!

Its spread around. Anybody check the forecast lately? My weather underground app says Rain starts Friday night in to Saturday and drops from 50% chance at 9am to 20% at 10am and down to 10% by 2pm. Temperature from 10am to 5pm 70F to 71F. Not bad if that holds or improves.

Here is the beer list organized by bar and tap # (list removed, see next post). Most beers get tapped at 1:00 or 3:00. Now, we cannot change every keg at once so lets be smart and you can change some kegs before 3, after 3, etc... If something tapped at 1:00 runs out early go get the 3:00 on there. Each keg is identified by its assigned # which will be on a tag attached to the kegs. As beers run out towards the end of the fest we may be throwing some back on that were tapped earlier so lets keep everything in the cooler until the fest is over. Keep all the taps flowing!

Beers in bold are the special releases for this year. I wasn't sure what to pick so big barrel aged stuff was obvious. The prior cabinet asked me to brew something barrel aged for the fest so the Brandy Barrel Imperial Stout is there and my FYF IPA has become an annual thing. I put them both at one tap to spread out release times and so I would only be booting one of my own beers off the lines after 1 hour. Limited releases like one 22 oz. bottle seemed obvious. We could identify some more if you want. Tried not to do too many and add to the chaos. Going forward it would be nice to identify these in advance. For example, tap the gold medal IPA from the state fair and stuff like that.

There are a few pin lock kegs on the list and they are identified by (pin). A couple of these keg swaps will require one to switch the QD to the appropriate ball or pin lock. The connections are screw on mfl so should not be too difficult to manage.

I put quite a bit of thought in to the list. Tried to spread individual brewer's around to different bars and keep the styles mixed up. We are pouring all the sours at Bar 2 because it has all stainless parts and anti-microbial tubing.

Bars are identified as:
--Bar 1: 10 Tap New Bar
--Bar 2: 8 Tap Old Bar
--Bar 3: 6 Tap Portable Tower (new bar that Andrew made to sit on a table top)
--Bar 4: 7 Tap Jockey Box

There are also some single taps that fit directly on top of the keg that are spread out among Bars 2-4. This gives each bar 8-10 taps to manage.

We will discuss at tonight's meeting and hopefully answer any questions you have.

Here is the final tap list. I will have copies at each Bar. We now have 40 taps for the club with the 9 single taps that go direct to the keg coming. That gives us 10 taps at each station. We also have another two-tap box coming that we can use. It is not included in the schedule but we can use it for extra kegs that show up, or grab something scheduled for the single taps that goes on at 3:00. We will find something to pour. We can run off schedule as needed, plus kegs will blow throughout the day. Gives us a starting point though.

I dropped off some kegs at Benz. I forgot to bring a list so people could reference their keg number. That list is also attached here for you reference and I will drop a copy off later. If someone going earlier than 5 can drop of a copy off the list "Festival Beer List 2016 - Keg #" that would be great.

Great festival. We implemented 2 methods to measure attended this year and they seemed to match fairly well:
295 paid entries.
366 wristbands were handed out. This includes club members and the band.

We really have not kept a good attendance historically.
Last year we estimated 300 to 325. Prior years, I don't have an estimate. We can look at revenue and make a correlation based on that when we have the numbers in.
