I'm also bringing simple food such as dogs and chips. My wife and couple of friends will come out for at least part of the evening, not camping.

I'm bringing 2 life jackets, and a 2-man tent I can set up quickly. I think we have to have at least 3 "structures" do we not?

I also plan to bing a camp stove, a couple of chairs, and all my usual camping supplies.

I'm bringing the camper, because it will be my first opportunity to use it.

8 life jackets accounted for so far.

Matt = 4
Randy = 2
Tim = 2

Just need three more from either Kurt and/or Kent

I will be bringing a few chairs, a four person tent and two person tent if needed. The four person tent is better for three, four is a bit cozy.

I've got two for my canoe and access to about 6 to 8 more if needed that I can pick up on friday night with everything else I'm picking up. Let me know how many I need to bring total.

I'm bringing a tent, smores, a propane grill, two 35 gallon trash cans of firewood and sticks, 16-24 beef hot dogs, and bbq beans.

All canoers meet at the Pinicon Ridge boat ramp just past the boat rental building at 11:30 AM. Come earlier if you would like to drop off your car at camp. If you are just camping, we officially get the site at 3:00 PM. If you don't plan to stay the night, they say you are supposed to leave by 10:30 PM.

Page 6 of this post has some information about where to meet in the park and about the canoe route. I attached some maps here to help you find the place. On the Pinicon Ridge Park map we are meeting at the boat ramp for the trip (#12) and we are at group camp site #7 in the group camps area(#21). If you have trouble finding the place call my cell (319) 654-5146. Not sure if it will work in the park though.

Here is the list of people I have that plan to come.
4 – hour canoe trip - 5 canoes and two tubes
-Matt F
-Randy
-Jim F
-Kurt
-Michelle
-Jeremy
-Adam D
-Tim
-Damon
-JJ
-Brian

Here is the list of who is bringing life jackets.
Matt = 4
Randy = 2
Tim = 2
Kurt = 3 (Kurt can you grab three jackets?)

I have four canoes at my place and I am hauling two and my cousin is hauling the other two. Kurt is bringing his. We have 11 people so 5 canoes including Kurt's three seater should be perfect. Plus some tubes for jumping in.

Saturday is supposed to be a high of 84 F and low of 65 F. Here is a description of the weather according to channel 9:
"Muggy air will be present today and as a cold front approaches, scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop in the region. Chances for rain continue through very early Saturday morning and then a nice weekend is ahead. The air will be less humid, but it will still be warm with partial sunshine tomorrow and full sunshine Sunday."

Park says it is OK to bring firewood as long as it is from the area. Bring what you want. I didn't get any loaded before the rain hit.

No luck on the tubes. All the tubes we have are loaned out. I kinda pissed my brother couldn't get a hold of anyone for the tubes that he had loaned out.

Did anyone take home a blue-grey and white soft sided cooler? I couldn't find it when I went to leave the site today. I didn't take it in the canoe so I know I didn't lose it that way.

I'd like to thank Franklin again for setting up beer camp for us. I had a blast and I'm looking forward to seeing what kinda crazy shenanigans will happen next year. I'm still laughing that you sent one of the drunkest people there to deal with the sheriffs.

I think you were the perfect spokesman Kurt. It is safe to say most were feeling pretty good that evening. I had a blast and plan to do it again next year.

It sounds like next year we would like to do more tubes and a shorter float. We can float from the jumping bridge which is supposed to be a two hour trip so it will probably take us four.

I also plan on bumping it up to July. August/September gets very busy with Great Taste of the Midwest, Independence Brew BBQ, Iowa Festival of Beers, Grout Museum and the Great American Beer Festival.

Randy, I haven't seen your cooler. I will ask my cousins if they found anything.

Any other suggestions for next year let me know at the next meeting or post here. Thanks again to all that came. It was a blast.

Also, we barley touched the Rocktoberfest so it is available for other beer events like Grout.
