strong ale tasting

I was thinking about having a strong ale tasting some time in February and wanted to see how much of interest there would be. By strong ale I was thinking Imperial Stouts, Barleywines, pretty much anything with Imperial or Double in the style name. Hopefully if there's enough interest we could have it at the Longbranch and split the cost of the room between attendees. I was hoping for it to be around $10 + beer per person. Let me know if you're interested and we can get the ball rolling. Here's an idea of what I could bring:

I'm in for sure. I'll bring a Double Bastard. Matt, you should definitely let that age. Then next year at this time we can have a vintage tasting, and you can crack that sucker!

I'm in.  I'll find something good to bring.  Speaking of vintage ale, I've got a bottle of Fuller's Vintage Ale from a few years ago.  Ought to be really good.

I have a couple bigfoot barley wines. I can do 2 each of 2009 and 2010. I may have another high gravity beer to add to the mix, I need to check the stocks.

I know I have a Port Brewing Old Viscosity and some other stuff. Have to look. The Darkness will have to wait a year.

Sounds awesome. I could donate 2 each Bigfeet from 2005 - present. Looks like this could quickly turn into a major drunkfest!

Nice, I have some '08 bigfoot and love the way it tastes after a couple years. I'd love to sample some that was 3-5 yrs. I'm starting to age some North Coast Old Stock barleywine too. Hope that ages as well as Bigfoot has for me.

I'd be in if I can get my wife to drive me home. It will depend on dates and her work schedule.

I can throw in the following, though I only have 1 bottle of each:
Port Old Viscosity
Hoppin Frog Boris the Crusher
Mikeller Black (only 12oz)
Sierra 30th Ann Black Barleywine

I don't think any of these are more than a year old.

I'd be up for this. I have a few aged big beers, not sure what right of hand. I try to stay out of it, but I need a breathalyzer lock to put on my container so I quit drinking them when I get drunk.

It can be difficult for me to commit to anything this time of year. Aw hell, who am I trying to kid - I was engaged for three years - its hard for me to commit in general.

Sounds like fun, and I'll be there if I can. And I should be able to find something to contribute. Seems like I've got a Behemoth somewhere.

Perhaps we need to have more than one of these meetings and string it out a little. This is sounding like a LOT of tasty high-alcohol brews.

Maybe this should be our New Year's Eve Party??

I will look at my stash. I have a few 1-2 year olds put away. Off the top of my head, there are a couple of Allegash in there and some 3 Floyds.

Anybody up to doing this again? If so, let's throw some dates out there.
