I got to do alot of reading over the holidays and read "Brew Like a Monk" by Stan Heironimous. The thing about "Belgian" beers is that there isn't really a "Style" Apparently Belgian brewers brew with what they have and are creative and make changes (add spices, change temps, etc. )to produce beers that they think will taste good. While the club beer competitions are fun, trying to match a style. I've brewed beer to a style I didn't like and might have changed. I don't propose changing the competition but maybe getting together and seeing if the club could come up with a signature "style". If little T likes maybe could showcase it at 3B. Talk amoung yourselves.
PS Yeah I know.. when I have time on my hands and start to think it gets scary.
