New in town

Ahh i knew there had to be a brew club located around this town. Anyways im not that great of a brewer but I sure like to sit around drinking beer and talking about it. I just moved from La Crosse where i was a member the brew club there. I have a couple questions for the other brew enthusies in town.

First of all is there a brewing supply store here in town. I only have ingrediants for one more beer in my freezer!

Second is there a process to joining the club besides just showing up to the meeting with some beers? Sorry guys I dont have any of my good beers left I drank them all so I didn't have to move them.

First, Welcome to Cedar Rapids and the CRBeerNuts. We are glad to have another brewer in our Midst.

There is no Brewing supply store in Cedar Rapids, about the closest you will come is Benz Beverage Depot downtown or the Blairs Ferry Rd Hy Vee, they each carry a small amount of brewing supplies. Most of us order our supplies from Northern Brewer, they are in Minnasota and the brew saver shipping gets here in 2 days. So it is fairly cheap and fairly quick.

For your second question about joining, yearly dues are $30 dollars which are actually due this month. so just show up to the meeting (which is listed in the Monthly meeting forum. It is actually tomorrow night (Jan 20th) and starts at 7PM. The address is below.

Hi and welcome to the area. Stop by the meeting and get to know us. Don't feel like you have to join just to see if you like what we're about. Hopefully our beer will be enough to make you want to become a member.

Welcome! Absolutely come check out a meeting. Also, don't feel like you need to pay dues and join on your first night. Just show up, meet some people, and have a good time.

Welcome. Im also pretty new here, and a really new brewer. I have found that the Hyvee on the corner of center point and blairs ferry has what I have needed in a pinch. I make weekly stops there it seems. Not a huge selection, but they have a decent one. Im right up the road from you, along with a few others. I live in Bowman woods 1. Corner of C ave and Boysen Rd.
