I realize this is a ways off. But there is nothing wrong with some pre-planning. What hotels are located closest to the event? How many folks are planning on going? I am assuming hotels will book fast, after tickets are sold.

I know I am going, and taking my wife. I am planning on going the night of April 30th, to wait in line for tickets on the 1st. I am not getting a hotel that night.

I will be going the evening before, and leaving on the sunday morning after the event.

I would not go with a hotel closest to the event, as there are cabs for $1 offered that day (I think it is return only). However, there is really nothing of interest around Olin park other then the event.

You should shoot for a downtown hotel on the square. There is lots of evening activities going on that weekend around the square like the cigar bar that has all the Bells beers on tap. There are several pubs in that area as well that have nice beers on tap as well. Most of the rest of the Nuts who are going will probably be around the square as well.

This is not preplanning, if you are going you should book something now. The hotels for that weekend fill pretty fast as many people go year after year and book a couple of weeks after the previous years event. I think we stayed at Madison Concourse Hotel and Governor's Club, it was nice, kind of pricey though, I think I paid about $150 a night or so for it.

I don't think we are going this year, as we will have a baby that is about 7 days old at the time.

If I might make a suggestion, Go to Capitol Brewing to get the tickets. They give you a numbered ticket and let you into the beer garden at 10, so you're not just standing in line for the last 2 hours.

Anyone else planning on going up and getting in line to get tickets? I'm planning on being in line at Steve's on Mineral Point.

I'd like to go up. Not sure if I'll be driving up or hitching with someone else.

If you have the chance saturday the 30th is the annual Mifflin Street Block party which is always a good time. I think im planning on standing in line at the wine and hop shop because its pretty close to campus. What time do think is a good time to get in line?
