Lee you beat me to the post.

Here is some additional info I got from Thirsty group, If its not mentioned in the packet, they are also looking for judges for any of you interested. You do not need to be BJCP certified to participate but its ultimately Thirsty's decision on who they accept but want to encourage anyone who wishes to learn more about the process to volunteer for the several different positions.

So the judging is the same day as the Benz Beer fest. Not very good timing. It use to be the same day as Teach a Friend to Homebrew Day so at least it moved from there. Don't think I have anything I want to enter but we shall see.

Can you submit a beer from a kit? Didn't see anything that said you cant and would be fun just to submit something.

Given the relatively late notice for the event, I think it's safe to assume you can enter anything you want (aside from commercial & brew-on-premises examples, as stated in the rules) as they will probably not have that many entries.

You can enter kit beers, extract beer, all-grain, and blended variations of the before stated. The only thing you can't enter is a commerical beer.

Might have to throw my sour in there (Old Bruin). Would probably be the only entry; Gold, Silver, and Bronze here I come!

I just bottled an American Brown Ale (Caribou Slobber) last week so it should be ready. Hopefully need not be present to win (ha!)? I have our team bike ride/train wreck that day and going to try to hit up the Benz Tasting as well.

Is anyone planning a trip down to Millstream to enter their bottles? If so, could my entries hitch a ride with you? I've got one beer and one cider to enter, but don't think I'll have a chance to drive down there before May 8.

You beat me to the punch. I am planning a trip down there this Sunday to drop off my beers, pick up some brats at the smokehouse, and maybe cruise over to Red's in NL for some tasty beers and snacks. So, I can also deliver for folks. Just let me know and we'll hook up on Saturday and do the transfer.
