Jim Potts has agreed to host the next meeting, which is scheduled for Wednesday, July 6th at 8pm. Please be prompt as there will be a fair amount of things to go over. A map to Jim's place can be found here: 1916 Fox Trail Dr NE, Cedar Rapids, IA

This month we are taking a preliminary look at various software tools for brewing. If you have a cool program you think others would like to see feel free to bring it along. Jim will have his projector set up for club use. I suggest bringing the software installed on your own laptop or other device. This is not intended to be a "this software vs. that one" contest, but rather an opportunity to see several options at once.

I'll be demoing the improvements to the new BeerSmith 2.0. I can also do a more in-depth demo showing how to set up and use the software for everyday brewing tasks if there is both time and interest in doing so. Jeremy will be showing one or more tools for smart phones. We can always do more complete demos at another meeting if you all want to.

Brad Smith, the creator of BeerSmith, has donated a copy of BeerSmith 2 which will be given away in a drawing at the Tech Meeting! This new version works on PCs and Macs. Sounds like an added incentive to come to the meeting!

Brad was a super nice guy. Several of us spent quite a bit of time talking to him at the NHC.

We'll also be giving away a key code for a free copy of BeerSmith! See the first post above for Jim's address.
