Can the red O2 bottles be refilled or do they need to be disposed of? If so where for either?

You got me. I don't think I've ever seen a red CO2 bottle.

You might want to read that again, Tim.  O2 bottle, not CO2.
And to answer, no they're not.

Where or how do you dispose of them. I wouldn't think you could just pitch them in the trash.

You can.  It's stupid, but that's what you do, as far as I know.  Same with empty disposable propane bottles. I thought they could be recycled since they're steel. My Dad is on the solid waste board, I can check with him.

Sorry, I dropped the ball on this, They can be recycled. place them in the recycling. Taking the head off makes it easier for them, but they will take it either way. That's what I've been told, anyhow.
