I'm planning to brew an all grain batch on Sunday if you want to see equipment in action instead of just talking about it.  I'll probably get started between 11 & 12.  Let me know if that would work.

I think we all ended up too hung over. I definately want to have these guys see another system. The one was saw was pretty self modified and if I remembered his mash ton and boiling kettle were the same, he would use a different type of modified filter depending on what he was doing, transfer to a bucket and back to boil. His fermenter was a food grade trash can with lid and he put an empty keg on top of it in order to seal it.

Then he was a 4 keg fridge (fridge was old) and single tap system with steel CO2 tank that he wanted to seel for $400.00. He was not willing to budge on that price and I am looking at it thinking - well we are taking it and dividing it between three people so we will each need our own co2 tank, regulator, hosing, tap, etc.

They are both pretty gung ho and getting this.

I have another homebrew system that is a little different. I use a natural gas burner for the boil, an electric HLT with a gas burner to speed things up if necessary and a mashtun with no direct heat. I am considering cutting my stand height down to move the mashtun back to the highest point like when I brewed outside and put the HLT directly underneath the mashtun but got use to brewing in this configuration and like it. I use my immersion chiller as a HERMS coil in my boil kettle simply because it doesn't fit through the opening of my HLT. I plan to add a permanet HERMS coil in the HLT some day. I move stuff around with the typical March pump.

I could have you over for a brew session some time but it wouldn't be until later this winter as most of my weekends are already tied up until January. I brew in the basement though so January and February tend to be big brewing months for me and maybe something will open up before then. Let me know if you are interested.
