I made the Doc & Tasty keg washer today. I washed some carboys, didn't get around to doing any kegs. I'll try to post a picture tomorrow.

I washed 4 better bottles and 2 glass carboys in about 2 1/2 hours with 3 gallons of water and a couple tablespoons of PBW. It was a piece of cake to make and easy to use.

Sounds like a good DIY project for a Tech Meeting! Would you be willing to do the "show & tell"?

I'll bring it to the meeting on Thursday. It would make for a short tech meeting.

I assume it did a nice job cleaning. Glad you are bringing it to the next meeting. I have a pump just like that so it looks like a cheap and easy upgrade.

I use a pump just like that for my immersion chiller. It cleaned kegs pretty good?

For what its worth here is my keg washer. 1/3hp pump but 1/6 would have worked just as well.

2 gallons hot rinse water
2 gallons with 1/4 cup PBW
2 gallons hot rinse water
2 gallons with non foaming starsan

I have found 2-3 min per keg per step works great. (only do the san for 15 sec or so though). I usually do 4-6 kegs at once and they come out perfect. And much easier than trying to do it at the kitchen sink. I use the GFI outlet in the garage and sometimes leave off the lid and just balance the keg over the top with one hand and run the power with the other. The lid has a 4" to 3" rubber plumbing reducer boot that snaps into the hole in the lid. This balances the keg hands free and all of the water goes back in the bucket. Cleans the dip tubes, valves and all. Usually pop the rings off the lids, open the relief valves and toss into the bottom of the bucket. I also used 2 buckets, the bottom is cut out of one so they can nest on top of eachother to add another 3" or so of height.

I just got a pressure canner and will do some pix of canning wort for starters soon.

Let me know the paypal link for dues...

And when is the group buy on base malt? I need sum :)
