AHA sanctioned event in Des Moines March 31, 2012. Has anyone ever submitted to or been to this competition before? Entries are to be sent to or dropped off at Beer Crazy in Urbandale.

Yep, I've entered the IBU open before and have stewarded a couple times. It is a very well run competition and they are a good bunch of people, other than the ISU folks. (joking)

Looks like i need to get on some brewing. I think I'll give this a shot too. I'm always looking for a reason to visit Des Moines and El Bait Shop, so I may be able to volunteer to deliver entries if people are interested. I need to check with the boss, but I don't see why that wouldn't work.

I sometimes judge in this competition… it is well run, and they have a great party for all the judges/volunteers afterwards.. but the El Bait shop still holds a special place in my heart when I visit Moines.

You usually can’t deliver beer the day of the judging, so if you are judging or volunteering you might need to make special arrangements to bring entries with you.

OK, guys, I'm going to plan to take entries for the IBU open to Beer crazy on 3/24. If you want to enter I'll be happy to take the entries with me. We'll work out the details at the February meeting. I'm guessing that I'll just collect most entries at the March 15 meeting.

I will have some entries for you to take.

Registration for this is open. Due to a scheduling conflict, I will need to bump up my delivery date for entries. I'll be heading to Des Moines on 3/17 (yes St Patty's day) to drop off entries. We have a meeting on the 15th, I'll bring boxes to transport the entries. You are responsible for making sure the bottles are labeled properly and securely. Won't abuse the bottles, but I want to make sure they are adequately held onto the bottle. If you have any questions, or aren't going to make it to the March meeting, please let me know.

I will be transferring some beer this weekend, I will try to get you an entry that evening too.

I'll have 3 entries to send with you.

I will be taking beer over on the 24th if there are any stragglers.

Drop me a pm next wed or thurs and we can arrange the pick up. Coming from Lisbon I can swing through cr on my way to dsm Saturday AM. I will likely want to get to beer crazy around 10 or 11AM so I can then be at el bait shop for lunch. Oh yes, there will be beer!
