Sam C. comments on brewery success and beer snobbery

Sam's comments pretty much sums up why I don't read the forums over there anymore. Too many shallow d-bags. People need to keep in mind how small of a market percentage any of the craft brewers hold before they accuse them of getting too big etc.

We get then same kind of thing with Redpaw. We dominate the playing field in an incredibly specific market segment. We routinely see comments on forums on how we've gotten too big, or have sold out. We're the same company we've always been. And did any of you every hear the name Redpaw before I came around? I seriously doubt it. We something like 0.0001% of the dog food market. Too big indeed!

But DFH does suck! (kidding..couldn't resist the joke)

I concur. Dogfish has grown but is realtively small compared to the big boys. I like a lot of their beers and I love that the have used their success to push the evelope with experiments that would never be allowed if the final decisions were in the hands of accountants. Sam deserves the success he is having. Remember, the guy brewed three times a day on a SABCO system for several years for his brew pub when craft beer was just getting going. He put in the hard work and took lots of risks to get where he is. If their beer sucked, it would not sell. That is the great thing about craft brewing. It is not a marketed comodity, it is the product itself that sells.
