March meeting details

Our March meeting will be held Thursday the 15th. The social part begins at 7pm (or earlier as many come to eat before the meeting), with the official club business portion starting at 7:30pm.

The location is once again at Bricks in downtown Cedar Rapids. The address is the address is 320 2nd Ave SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401. We'll be in the upper level of the bar.

Chili cookoff will be a separate March Madness event, still at (one of the) Franklin's.

I will let the cabinet confirm but last I heard the Chili cook-off will be at my house on March 31 which is the evening of the Final Four. Official announcement and details to come.

It's the club competition, the next style is Classic American Pilsner. So basically a pre-prohibition pils. Should be interesting as there are very few commercial examples around to compare to.

For what it's worth, mine reminds me of Sam Adams Noble Pils, but with more corny sweetness. It's much more lemony/flowery than most German Pils I've tasted.
