March

Post by JimPotts »

Did anyone volunteer to host the March meeting? And are we having it on the normal day? (The 3rd Thursday happens to be Maundy Thursday this year, which could be a conflict for some people.)

All:

I will be hosting this months CR Beer Nuts Meeting on March 20th at 7:00pm. My home is located at:

3370 Jonquil Ln
Marion, IA 52302

Here is a link to google map showing where it is at: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&g ... iwloc=addr

Here is what we are hoping to cover at this months meeting:

Club competitions
Website redesign - we need to get this done so we can post meeting minutes, have new events on front etc.
Name who the hosts for the next few months are
New club shirt order - who wants shirts
Plan a trip to a brewery as a club (pub city maybe) How we are going to get there. Who can drive
Ideas for what we can do with club funds - no one has posted any ideas.
Upcoming events - do you know of any?
Since Third base has a party room, do we want to try and create our own open brew competition...similar to Thirsty's maybe get an AHA sactioned event.

Here is another idea, we could see if there is any interest in learning how to judge beer.
Buy commercial beer with club funds, find an expert judge who has reviewed it previously, have everyone judge it for themselves then compare to the judges.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Thanks

I'll be there. Thanks for hosting Dave.

Is there a specific style this month? I can't remember if we named a style last month or not. Red Ales, or Irish Ales might be appropriate. Anyone else have any ideas?
