I have to admit. These two appear rather uninspired. I'll be tweaking these recipes for sure.

We'll be holding this year's Big Brew Day event at Benz Beverage Depot on Saturday, May 5th. We'll get started at a little after 10am since that's when Benz opens., though we'll need people to get there by around 9:45 to set up. Please park somewhere other than Benz parking lot so their customers can still shop.

For those unfamiliar with Big Brew Day, it's an annual event put on by the American Homebrewers Association. Clubs all over the nation get together to brew together and celebrate our hobby. It's a great opportunity to bring a friend and show them what our club is about and to demonstrate how to brew. We also grill out and share some tasty brews. In past years it has been a very fun event.

Please use this thread to coordinate. If you'd like to bring your brewing setup please post here so we know how many brewing setups and how many gallons we'll be brewing. The link to the official recipes is posted above, but you don't have to brew on of them if you'd rather brew something else. Benz will provide water via a hose. It's also a good idea to bring lawn chairs if you have a couple.

If you have any questions please ask. Again, new brewers are welcome, and bring a friend if they are interested in learning more.

I'll be bringing my all-grain brewing setup and brewing a 2.5 gallon batch. Not sure what I'll brew yet. I'll also bring a back-up sun shade and a couple of chairs.

I plan on attending. I can haul my gear if needed. I will wait and see how many people are brewing.

I'll be there. I don't think that I'll haul the system down though.

does anyone do extracts/kits for this event, or does everyone usually do all-grain?

Do whatever you do. This is an opportunity to show any people interested in beermaking that there is a whole spectrum of different setups and degrees of sophistication in brewing. So, have someone brewing an extract batch is spot on for this event.

If you want to bring in a couple signs advertising the event, I could put them up at the pub.  On Apr 13, 2012 3:45 PM, "tony b" <brew-events@crbeernuts.org (brew-events@crbeernuts.org)> wrote:

If nobody has a burning desire to make some posters, I'll make a couple and bring them to the meeting on Thursday.
