In case you haven't heard.

My refund is supposedly on the way, so I opened up a bottle to see how bad it could be. It was super fizzy, smelled musty, and tasted like it was halfway to becoming a sour, but not in a good way. In a word, Awful.

Smart move by Boulevard to offer refunds. I would have been much more hesitant to buy another one of their Special Release beers after opening one of these infected Chocolate Ales. It's a pretty crowded market and I'm sure I'm not alone in this.

Lee,
I don't have my receipt any more. I think I got it at Benz. What did you put down for the price paid? I want to send mine in but I can't remember what the price was.

Here is a question for you.I got a bottle of La Folie from hyvee a few weeks ago. I had never had it before and everyone talks about how awesome it is. Opened it and went to split it with the wife....Now, I am not a total stranger to sour beers, but, this tasted much like malt vinegar. Maybe malt vinegar mixed with really dry wine.Is this what LaFolie is supposed to be? I tried really hard to drink it but just couldn't get it all down. Maybe its just my noob taste buds? I've had quite a few lambics and I know what "brett" tastes like. It wasn't that...it was wine/vinegar for sure. Maybe it was me? Maybe it was bad too? I know its a sour brown aged in wine barrels...but it was thin and vinegary. Would have been good on fish n chips. Help?PaulFrom: "DrPaulsen" <test@crbeernuts.org>

I would say that La Folie is much more sour than your typical brett beer or lambic but maybe you got a bad bottle. It is on tap right now at Zepplins if you want to try it again to see if it tastes the same. It runs $4.75 a glass and is two for one from 3 to 6. I love it, but I am a big sour head.
