This is cool. I've been looking for an excuse to brew a sour and this might be it.

The recipe mentions brett, lacto, and pedio bacterium but MoreBeer only lists the brett for sale. Do any of you guys know where to find the lacto and pedio cultures?

I saw this and I am extremely excited. This is one of my favorite beers. I wonder if you get the extra bugs from the chunks of the barrel they supply you. Otherwise, I think you can buy each of those cultures separately or they are in the Roselare blend. I will be doing more research though because this beer is on my "to brew" list now.

You stole my thunder here bro. I just ordered this kit and was going to boast about how cool I am.

They make it seem as though the barrel oak cubes do have the RR bug mix. It wouldn't have the same appeal if it didn't.

Vinnie C handed out some baggies of his chopped up inoculated barrels at one of the NHC's a few years ago from what I've heard so he's not averse to sharing.

The order form just got updated with the below.

"
Please Note: This is our most advanced kit. You will need to purchase a yeast for primary (we recommend Abbey Ale), Brettanomyces for the souring/aging process, and Rockpile wine yeast for bottle conditioning. Please also consider that the timelines provided will not always be accurate, and this beer can take anywhere from 4 months to 12 months to perfect to your liking."

I thought at least the Abbey ale was included so I called MoreBeer and added Wyeast 1214 and a smack pack of Roselare. I thought that was a bit unclear prior to the added note.

This is what happens when you let excitement carry you away.

Once mine is done and I'm ready to bottle (12-18 months), I'll inoculate some fresh chips from the dregs of the secondary. That way anyone who wants some can get the RR bug culture.

interesting read below.

Got my kit yesterday but won't get to brew until June 24th. Here's a pic of the kit contents.
