Finally filled my barrel

Post by Matt F »

Well, I finally filled my 15 gallon Cedar Ridge Bourbon barrel with my imperial smoked porter yesterday. Tasted good going in. Too smokey at this point but it usually is when it is young. Still have 3 gallons left for the angel's share and I kegged the other two. I will bring the unoaked version to a meeting once it is ready. Oh, and the final oaked version once it is ready, several months down the road.

I've been trying to get mine filled for a couple months. Now I just need to make beer to drink. Hopefully the week of the 4th I'll get it done.
