Benz Beer Fest May 10th 1pm-5pm (Beer Nuts table?)

Post by quinton »

Hello Beer Nuts,
I'm Quinton and I am helping to organize the beer fest at Benz Beverage Depot for May 10th. We would very much like if your club would attend and have a table present at the event. Last year we had over 500 people come and this year we have grown beyond the parking lot and will close off 7th Avenue in front of our building and spill out onto the street with even more people, breweries and distributors.

Please discuss the possibility of having a table as well as any questions or suggestions you might have concerning the event. I know there is less than a month before our event and this is short notice so please discuss the prospect of attending amongst yourselves and get a hold of Jared, Matt or me at Benz (365-2556) or email me at quinton.mcclain@gmail.com.

Let us know if there is anything we can do to help the club come to the event.

Thanks,
Quinton

Hi Quinton,

I assume you would like us to bring some homebrew? That and some club info could boost awerness of the club and homebrewing in general. I'll bring it up at the meeting tomorrow.

Thanks Tom.

We would love for you to bring beer but you would be under no obligation to do so.

Ask at the meeting how Benz could help. We couldn't give money to help curb the costs of the brew but I believe we could donate some supplies if that would put less of a strain on your wallets.

As a homebrewer myself I would like to see the club grow and see more people interested in homebrewing.

Feel free to join us tonight if you have some time Quinton. We are meeting at my house tonight at 7:00 pm. Feel free to come late. The details are in the meetings section. We usually run well past 10pm in to the late hours. It would be a great way to meet some other home brewers and learn more about the club.

From the April 17th Meeting, we decided we would like to have a table at the Benz beer fest.

We need people to post whether they plan to come, when, and what beer they will bring. It would be nice if we had some sort of flier, even if it were just a simple one page handout with some club info. You don't have to bring a full keg. We can bring growlers, bottles, kegs, whatever you may be able to serve beer out of.

I'll plan to attend. My hours can be flexible if others have commitments either early or late afternoon. I have trouble standing up for more than a couple of hours if I'm not walking around, my knees give out.

I will stash away 6 bombers (22 oz bottles) - 3 baltic porter and 3 irish draught ale to bring.

Does the club have a nice printed banner with the club's name, logo, website address, etc. on it? If not, this might be a good use of club funds. Don't know if we can get one done in time, but we could try. Another idea might be coasters with our logo and website address on them.

We do have a nice banner already that Mark and Travis worked on. We used it at last years Festival of Iowa Beers at Millstream.

I like the coasters idea. Beats handing out a business card. Our logo would look nice on one side and our contact info, website and some comments about the club would go well on the other side.

I plan to attend and get there early to help setup. I will probably stay for the entire event. I am not sure what I will bring yet. I won't be sure until after May 3rd (bachelor party) so I can take inventory. I will post as soon as I know.

Looks like I'm busy that day. It's celebration day for our boy's graduation from Coe. Though the real party will be in about 5 years when it's paid off.

Enjoy

This was a great event last year, thanks for inviting us to join. I am planning to be there for the entire event and will arrive early to help setup. We have a banner and necessary festival gear. I have 3/4 keg of Coffee Stout and will throw down a Kiwi White Ale this weekend which should just be ready in time. I have a pale ale but Abby won't let me take it.... Quinton - is there a program being printed and do you want info on the club/our beers for it?

I rescind my earlier commitment. I am not sure if I will be able to attend at all. I will know closer to the event.

No Mark, I would love to attend but the summer schedule is already filling up. Hopefully I can still make it.

I believe I should be able to attend. I'm not sure for how long or when but I should be there. I can bring some beer, not sure how much. If Dave ever decides to brew again, that might help me decide what I can bring.
