Question to all the keggers out there. I have noticed that one of my Cornelius keg gas post poppet valves is starting to leak. I was thinking of replacing all of them just to be safe. I noticed on Midwest Supplies though that Cornelius keg posts look different than Challenger posts. All of my keg posts are the same...they all appear to be Challenger posts, both gas and liquid. Should I replace the posts as well or just the poppet valves. And which poppet valves should I get? Thanks yo.

I would just relpace the poppets. I always try to invest the minimum necessary. I have some poppets that I know have a slow leak but have never replaced them. I would but when I use those kegs they go straight in to the fridge and are hooked up to the gas line and beverage out lines. When they are attached the poppets don't do anything anyway. I have one keg that has a slow leak but if you flick the poppet a few times it stops leaking.

I would pressurize the kegs and only replace the poppets that leak. Spray some dishsoap water solution on them if you aren't sure. They will bubble if they leak. I am always a if it ain't broke don't fix it kind of guy. I figure that approach over a lifetime has saved me a few dollars.

Thanks, Matt. I was just planning on replacing the poppets as they aren't very expensive. Guess I'll get the Challenger ones for my one Challenger keg and Cornelius for the others.
