Officer elections
Officer voting is in november. If you are interested in running for office, nominations are in October. I can say that while it does take time, and some extra work, I find being on the cabinet rewarding.
You can't get with this with a bad hip - Matt
Hey all, I've used the last year to implement a few things that I thought were important. (Agenda, facebook page, though that has been handled primarily by Tim) However, I changed jobs over the summer, and have picked up some additional responsibilities and activities. I will not be asking for the nomination for Secretary this year. I feel as though there are several club members who are interested, and will do a better job than I feel I can do at this time. Being an officer is very rewarding. If anyone is interested, please step up. Thanks

i know that most of the offices are pretty self-explanatory, but i'm gonna be 'that guy' and ask about the responsibilities of each of the officers. can we get a short description of what each might do in a given month?

Secretary involves going to the cabinet meeting, taking noted, assembling the agenda and posting it. Taking notes at the meeting and posting minutes. In addition, we receive emails to the info account and reply to those.

Well, I'll be "that guy" and say "read the constitution." ;^)
Here's my take (which will surely overlook things, so others can feel free to jump in).
In general, the officers run the business of the club. That includes attending the general meetings, and attending cabinet meetings.
Individual tasks break down as follows:
President
Spokesperson for the club
Runs general and cabinet meetings
Tie-breaker for votes
Vice-President
Backup to the president
Handles presidential tasks delegated by the president.
Secretary
Takes notes at club meetings.
Posts the agenda.
Posts the minutes from meetings.
Treasurer
Handles club finances (bookkeeping, etc).
Tracks membership.
Events Coordinator
Keeps track of club events
Finds volunteers to lead specific events
Coordinates between cabinet and event leads.
Besides these jobs, there are numerous tasks done by the cabinet members that don't fit into specific roles, but which are assigned as they come up. (One example would be getting us incorporated, which I happened to do.)

I'm throwing my hat back in the ring for Vice President.
I want to continue working to make the great gains we made this year, especially having our own festival, permanent and not just a one time deal.
