Just got this email today. Not much lead time in the traditional Shitty Barn Party way. It is this Saturday, October 20, 2012. I will be unable to attend. While it has changed over the years and I think you have to pay for beer now, I am sure it would be a good time. If you want to get a glimpse of what it is about, check out the pictures from the 2008 Madison Beer tour where some of us finished the night at the Shitty Barn Party.

From Furthermore Beer:
There was a time when an annual Barn Party was a rare chance to come out to Spring Green and hang with Furthermore Beer. It was the only time you were able to dig though the lost and found for the fall jacket you were pretty sure you left near the fire-ring the year before. These days the Barn has its doors open quite often. It has seen a big beefy summer full of intimate music sessions. The lost and found now has more sunglasses and flip flops than it does knit hats and fingerless drinking gloves, so I'm assuming people have come back around a time or two too hear some music and recover their misplaced items. But make no mistake, the Barn Party is its own thing. Its bigger, louder and more beery than the intimate bring-a-lawn-chair sessions that happen with weekly regularity. For the beer geeks, its a chance to celebrate the crisp weather with fresh-from-the-tree Fallen Apple. A slightly smokey glass of Three Feet Deep will let you commune with the campfire. There will also be a sampling of a double IPA test batch that features delicious hops harvested right here in Wisconsin. To ensure this isn't simply a snap shot of what's in the brewer's fridge, we will add to the line-up a special tapping from Madison's new mead maker, Bos Meadery.
Come on out on Saturday for an all around good time (506 E. Madison St, SpGr). Ians's Pizza and Just Coffee will be here--thats all on the pretty poster below, along with Band info(x4). Bring a shirt for the screen printer (or buy one here). Might as well mark the tag of your coat with a sharpie too, so we know who to contact when we find it on Sunday.

Matt, remember one of the years we went and Iowa was playing a night game we setup a TV in the middle of the yard and watched the game. That was awesome, good friends, great beer, and awesome football. What a party.

I remember hearing about it. I didn't make it that year. That sounded awesome! Was it when Iowa knocked off and undefeated #3 ranked Penn State team under the lights at Kinnick? The Shitty Barn Party is a good time.
