Unorthodox keg fridge

Hey all, I'm trying to figure out my new bar setup. I want to run taps through the wall, but space on the backside of the wall is a bit tight. I would have to move a wall to get my kegerator in there. I'm brainstorming, and came up with an idea. I'm not sure how good of an idea it is, and thought I would check here. I'm thinking of using a mini fridge that I already have and putting a cold plate into it. I would probably get a 7 channel one and run 4 taps. 3 of the taps would run through 2 channels of the plate, in series, and the 4th would be for things like belgians, stouts, etc, that need to be cool, not cold. THe kegs would be kept in the basement at about 65-70 degrees. Is this a bad idea? I would probably keep the plate in a tub, and would be able to add ice if I was serving a lot of beer.
