The word on the street is that John's Grocery is releasing BCBS on Tuesday the 4th around 4:42 pm. Line starts at 4 pm, and they are asking that people park in nearby public lots and not their parking lot (which is VERY small anyway). Limit 1 4-pack per person. I'm sure everywhere else is getting this release too, so shy should you care? Every person buying a 4-pack will be entered into a raffle being held at 5:30 in the parking lot for one each of the following:

BCS Coffee
BCS Cherry Rye (going to be extremely rare I hear)
Night Stalker
Stone Vertical Epic 12.12.12

Benz will have the BCS on Tuesday, also.

Matt warned us at the Friday night tasting that he only got a very small amount of the one-offs (Coffee, Cherry and Night Stalker).

If you're not there when they open, you'll probably lose out on those.

Matt wanted to hold them back for preferred customers, but the distributor wants them out for public buying, which will take all of 15 minutes to sell out, which is exactly what they want to happen, so they can lobby for more next year.

BCS 4-packs are already selling at the Blairs Ferry and Center Point HyVee Drug. I just picked up a 4-pack for $20.99. No line, no wait. They do not have any of the special releases though. Didn't look like they had much so get it while you can.

Sounds like Benz is raffling an opportunity to buy the Cherry Rye, which is the only one I am really interested in.

Spend a ton of cash there. I rarely make it to John's anymore. Always a favorite but the folks in CR are doing a nice job these days. I still stop there if I am in IC.

Wait, you are talking about Benz, not John's. My bad.

Same answer applies. Money talks!

But, Matt does take care of the Beer Nuts, too. He'd rather sell these kinds of beers to folks that actually appreciated them, over folks just buying them because they are hard to get (especially turning around and flipping them on ebay!)

No doubt Matt has been really good to the Beer Nuts. Definately like working with the folks at Benz. That is why I still like to go to Benz when I get the chance. And the ebay thing is crap. Anybody out there score the coffee or cherry? I really want to try the cherry. Still have the coffee and bramble from the third base tasting last year.

I got one coffee and my tickets in the benz raffle for a cherry

All I got was a coffee. Still have some from the tasting at third base last year.

Back was feeling better today, so I ventured out to see what's left of the BCS. Bought the last 4-pack @ Benz this morning. But, the good news is that Oakland Rd HyVee has a good stock and no limit. Scored a 2nd 4-pack there.

Here's the other killer item at Oakland Rd. They actually bought a whole barrel of Jack Daniels. See the link about this.

http://www.jackdaniels.com/whiskey/jack ... gle-barrel

The barrel and all the special bottles are displayed. Pretty cool. I know a couple of people out at the power plant that are conspiring to do this next year.

About to crack open the bottle that I bought today. CHEERS!
