TallGrass Prarie Brewfest 2008

Post by Mark R »

The Cedar Valley CRAZE beer club has invited us to join them again at this fundraiser for the Grout Museum in Waterloo. This was a great time last year with both commercial and local breweries represented along with our two beer clubs. We will need to let them know if we are interested in going as soon as possible, so please post a response if you are and what you would plan to bring for beer - please post by June 6 so I can let them know.

September 27 5-9 pm
Two tickets will be provided to the club

So is the club interested in attending this event again this year? Mark I believe will be in the Craze both where he belongs. Last year CRBeerNuts won some award...Larry, Mark, Dave you will have to help me out here. I think it would be a fun event. I don't think we will get any club members from the event but it might be fun just the same.

Dave and I would be willing to donate a keg to the cause as well as my time.

It sounds fun but timing is bad with the Festival of Iowa Beers in Amana also in September. I can only play the "I am going drinking all weekend card" so many times and twice in one month is not going to work. I also will not be able to give away or produce that much beer in one month. With only two free passes for the club to bring a bunch of beer to an event where we will not recruit any members does not make economic sense either. That is not the most important thing as this is a fund raiser, but I bring a $20-$30 keg of beer and pay for admission, transportation and need some food. This becomes a pricy evening.

Sorry to be the Grinch, but I just like to point out the practical side.

Aside from that though, it would be a ton of fun. I know the guys that went last year had a good time. I would encourage anyone who would like to represent the club to attend, but I am out for this one.
