I currently have 26+ apple trees worth of wood. If any of you folks want some for your smokers, please respond on this forum and I'll set up a day/time for folks to come out and get the wood. (This will be a you-cut, you-haul deal.)

In case anyone is wondering, we still have 30 trees left. We mostly removed the apple trees that didn't do well without spray and the really early ripening varieties that tasted like water.

If anyone is willing to cut some extra, I would love some chunks. I would come get it myself but will be under going back surgery again April 5 and will be out of commission for some time after that.

Lee, I would like some wood, got my own chainsaw, truck, and such.

Thanks Lee. I would love to come out and get some.

For the folks planning to use this as smoke wood. Apple is fantastic stuff. But remember, this is green wood. After cutting, you are going to want to keep this dry for about a year, to season it. Or, a year from when it was cut down.
Green wood in the smoker can make acrid smoke, and soot. You don't want that.

Count me in, too. I would like to buddy up with someone, as I don't have a chainsaw, just some bow saws. But, I do have a small pickup truck.

This Saturday works for us, so you folks are all invited out to come cut up some apple trees for smoker wood.

If the weather is bad, we'll reschedule (unless you really want to do this in the rain).
