Kolach Festival pouring

There were not a whole lot of votes on the Kolach festival pouring in June. However the group did vote in favor. With fewer than 200 people expected to be sampling beer, and commercial vendors pouring samples as well, I think we need to be able to come up with 50 gallons of beer, if we are going to do this. This thread is a place for people to commit to bringing beer to the event. Please post here, if you plan on bringing beer to the event.

Not much action on this. Do we really want to go to this event?

Time is drawing near, where we need to commit to this event, or not. If there is no activity here in the next few days, I will be withdrawing us from this event. I know there were hands up at the last meeting, for people who wanted to do it. And those folks are not speaking up. If you want to do this, the time to speak up is now.

I know I can't help with this. Need to focus resources for Benz.
It is not the worst thing when we can't do every event asked of us. While we have grown to a large group, we are still a homebrew club with limited resources. If we could do this, great, but if not OK. I would say we have two main events, Benz Beerfest in May and our own homebrew festival in October. Festival of Iowa Beers seems to be on its way out. Independence is up there but mostly for fun. Not much of a fundraiser or recruitment tool. Again, would love to do them all, but I know I struggle just to keep all my taps full. I also feel the most protected legal wise at our two main events. We need to make sure we go big at the two events at Benz.

I thought I posted I would bring beer, and am willing to pour. I must have posted in wrong forum. I can provide 5 gallons of Irish Ale.

Matt. if we don't do the Kolach festival (which is fine with me) we only have three events to pour at. Benz Fest, Independence BrewBQ, and Beer Nuts fest. It's a safe bet we will not be at Millstream. This would have added a 4th event, and it was in our back yard. Plus, it is small enough, that I think we can easily handle it.
That said. I have no intention in over-committing our group. I recognize that we are hobbyists. It should not be a job to be in the brew club. My only concern is letting the event coordinators know if we are coming. I would hate for someone to plan on us, and not show up. So we need to make a decision.

I totally agree. We should pour at the Kolach if we can. Just want people that may not know, the two Benz events are the most important. If you have to choose, go with Benz in May and our fest at Benz in October. I also doubt Millstream happens this year. Their loss.

I'll have 5 gallons to pour. Of what, I'm not entirely sure, yet.

So did we decide if we are going to this event? If so, I will throw in 5 gallons of beer.

I think we have enough beer committed to do this event. I'll let them know we're coming.

I have confirmed with the contact at this event, that we are going. It sounds like we may be able to go the night before, and set up the bar. That would be nice, since many of us will be working the day of the event, and may not be able to show up early.
