Festival of Iowa Beers

Folks, it's official, we're not being invited to pour beers at this year's FIB in Amana. So no homebrew at all at this event. We expected this, but now we know for sure. Here's the note from Teresa Albert of Millstream Brewing:

------------
"I have finally heard back from the majority of the Iowa Breweries. I have room for about 20 brewers and so far I have 20 breweries that will be attending and am waiting to hear back from about 6 more. So unfortunately I won’t have any extra tables this year to place the home brew clubs at. The space I have to hold the festival in is very limiting. I knew it would happen with the rapid growth of the Iowa made beer in the last couple of years, I just didn’t think it would fill up until next year. I greatly appreciate the participation from the CR Beer Nuts over the last years and I hope that you’ve been able to benefit from awareness and growth in your club from the festival.

I hope everyone understands my need to change the venue these past two years and is not too upset with me. I know this has been a fun festival for the home brew clubs and I feel bad that all of you won’t be a part of the festival this year. Thanks again for understanding and please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. "

I figured it would be this year or next. Thankfully, we have been able to offer a venue for the home brewers.

Not sure "AGAIN" is the proper term but yes, great news.

We knew this was coming and makes our homebrew festival than much more important. Anybody hear if Jimmy Carter Happy Hour is back on yet? Starting again on the 4th of July sure would be cool as freedom is supposed to be an ideal celebrated this Thursday.
