Cedar Rapids Homebrew Festival

Post by carrisr »

The Second annual Cedar Rapids Homebrew Festival will be held Saturday, October 12th from 1pm to 5pm at Benz Beverage Depot. Celebrate the growing hobby of Home Brewing with the CR Beer Nuts and other Iowa homebrew clubs. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Designated drivers get in free and we’ll have non-alcoholic beverages available.

Ticket holders will get to sample 25+ beers, a sampling glass, and enjoy music performed by Randomonium! Food vendors will also be on site.

Advance tickets are on sale now at Benz Beverage Depot, BIY Homebrew Supply, as well as online at the BIY website: http://www.biyhomebrewsupply.com/index. ... cts_id=627. Get your tickets before they sell out!

Czech 'fest' Oct. 11

Post by jahphreaky »

So I've seen a bunch of commercials for the Czech fest the day before the homebrew fest. On a bunch of channels.

I was just wondering what sort of presence the beernuts would have that night or if there was any cross-promotion somewhere.

awfully quiet on this here forum.

Unfortunately, we are not going to be at the Czech fest. With a festival the next day, we would have had to turn it down, had we been invited. We are all over facebook. Social media is a far greater marketing tool than the forum, which is mostly for members.

Cedar Rapids Homebrew Festival

Most of our planning take place at the commitee meetings rather than the forums. We're meeting tonight at Third Base if you'd like to join us. If you have connections to any media outlets we could us all the help we can get to spread the word. Now's the time to hit it hard as we're close enough to the date that people will remember it. I'd imagine that Czech Fest as a real advertising budget as it's an expensive event.

I realize that not much actual planning (or anything else) goes on here in the forums. But some of us studiously avoid facebook because it isn't topic-specific (among other things) so I thought I'd chime in here.

Heh I'm seeing a commercial right now, in fact, on FX network. What I was wondering is if there are any plans to cross-promote at this event the day before the homebrew fest? You know...right up the street with a legit crowd obviously interested in the brew. Seems like it'd be better to turn people away because of over-promotion than to have a bunch of unsold tickets day of.

I do think being there with flyers is a good idea. I doubt they'll allow us to do anything more than that. I'd show up to pass out flyers.
