Annual Whiskey/Whisky/Bourbon Tasting at Benz

Post by tony b »

Thursday, Jan 30th, 5:30-7:00pm at Benz Beverage Depot.

This has always been a fun event and you usually get to try at least one very high-end liquor. I mean we're talking a bottle that goes for over $150 retail, sometimes much higher.

Actually, it's historically been mostly scotches, generally single malts, with some blended, an Irish whisky, and a bourbon or two thrown in.

I just wonder this year how many of the Cedar Ridge "scotch" whiskeys they'll pour? There's only 13 of them out there! (Oh, I have them all, bwah, ha, ha!) In fact, I scored bottle #1 from the four most-recent releases (Batches 9 -12).

I RSVP'd for this on Facebook. It was excellent last year.

I especially liked the super smoky Ardbeg and the Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban.

Stay away from the Crown Royal blended maple whiskey. it took 6 shots to clear my palate from that train wreck.
