Belgian Candy Sugar (Local?)
I would like to do a dubbel on sunday. It is too late for me to order any ingredients, and was wondering if anyone knows where I can buy dark candy sugar locally. That or citric acid. With citric acid, I can make my own candy sugar, cheap. But I can't find either.
I am not sure what they have yet, but Benz is opening. You might try the Hy-Vee Drugstore on Center Point Rd and Blairs Ferry. I am guessing you will have better luck finding citric acid than the dark Belgian candi sugar. That stuff is expensive. I ordered some earlier this year from Northern Brewer, but it is gone now. Good Luck!

We were just in there this afternoon and one of the few brew supplies that they had was candi sugar. I was about to post you when I got to your note above!
Folks, when they get fully back up to speed, it will be nicer than ever with the new meat and cheese counter in the back.
Bon appetit, ya'll!!!
