Grain Buy Suggestions/Advice

At this point in time, I have been making partial mash brews. But I would like to begin to make all-grain in the near future.

Should I wait for the next purchase and practice with grain that will be more expensive and see if I keep it up; or should I just dive in? I would seem the cost of two bags of grain will be just about as much as one or two beer kits.

If I do buy, I would appreciate some suggestions as what I should consider buying.

I like to make ales (porters and stouts) and will be making lighter beers (Pilsner, lagers).

Are my choices as simple as looking at a few recipes and seeing what I think I might like?

Suggestions/guidance/advice are welcome and appreciated.

Thanks,
Daryl

My recommendation would be 2-row and pilsen. 2-row for those stouts and ales, pilsen for your lagers. If you are making the switch, may as well save some money. Personally, about 50% of my beer is wheat beer. So I buy a lot of wheat and pilsner, for those. I use pale ale malt for everything else.
