I am in Des Moines for a class so I am headed to Jimmy Carter Happy Hour at El Bait Shop tonight. Stop by if you happen to be in Des Moines.

Total bummer! No one does Jimmy Carter Happy Hour anymore. Under new restrictions El Bait Shop is not allowed to promote or initiate anything that involves homebrewers pouring beers at El Bait Shop. They are still willing to host but the homebrewers have to handle all promotion and anything associated with pouring beers there. What happened is hombrewers would bring the beer, El Bait Shop would get all setup and none of the patrons were drinking the homebrew anymore. It basically died off. No homebrew has been poured there in quite some time.

Still had some good beer and food last night but no Jimmy Carter Happy Hour. If anyone had interest it could still be done but would be the sole responsibility of the homebrewers to make it happen. It was packed and none of the patrons there even mentioned the formerly glorious event.
