FastFerment Conical

Post by carrisr »

Another item we saw at NHC that think some people might be interested in is the new FastFerment Conical. The folks that make the FastRack bottle storage racks bought out the V-Vessel that was around in the beer/wine shops for a while. They researched forums etc. and took people's comments on the old system and made a number of improvements while halving the cost. The old version used to sell for $200. They're selling 1000 units of the new design at $90 with free shipping. They hope to have them retailing at around $99 or less when it goes into full production. They're also developing accessories such as free-standing stands. Production is now going to happen in the USA too.

Anyway, here's the details: http://www.thefastrack.ca/main/fastferment

Ordered one for the new brew room. I like the price point and that they have fixed all the issues with the former design. Waiting for the new stands, as I don't think I'll mount it on the wall.

I'm still on the fence about it. I like the price point still a little concerned about plastic and cleaning. The proper cleaning method that I can think of would to CIP pbw or oxiclean.

I like it, but wonder how it would fit in a chest freezer. I can finally control my temps and I'll be damned if I'm not going to utilized that benefit.

They are planning 2 stands - a short one that will "supposedly" fit in a kegerator and a taller one for transferring contents out of the bottom with the supplied tubing and connector.
