Cedar Rapids Brewing Society

Several people have pointed out that it's been a while since we've done a get together around the fire pit at my place. I'm thinking of having some of Steven's sausages cooked and ready to finish over the fire. Everyone else would bring stuff to go with. I've got a range of days available so if you want to come out, vote for what day works best for you. We'd probably get started around 3pm or so. People are welcome to hang out 'til whenever. There's also plenty of space to pitch tents etc. if you don't want to worry about getting home after. Wives and kids are welcome, as long as they are OK around dogs (I've got 3) and people drinking.

For those who've never been to my place, I've got an acreage out near Stone City. It's a bit if a drive, but easy to get to. The Address is:

Coming from the north side of the CR area, just take County Home Road east past Viola. Right now the road is closed, but hopefully it will be back open by then. I'll post an update to let people know the status when we get closer. If you are coming from Marion or anywhere mid to south CR, just take HWY 151 out past Springville. Turn left on Linn-Jones Rd, then right on Fairview Rd (County Home Rd). 246th Ave is really just a small gravel driveway right before the turn off to Stone City. If you have a GPS or use Google Maps it will take you right here.

It would only let me pick 3, but I'm open all of those dates right now. If the Kernels make the playoffs, the 6th & 7th might be out for me depending on whether they are home or away.

I may be able to bring sausages too if you like. Just sayin.

I've never told you this? Boy howdy, are you ever going to get an earful next time I see you. Bring the wife.

Looks like the 6th is the date for this. People are welcome to show up any time after 3pm. We'll plan to have the fire rolling around 4 or so. As I said before, I'll provide sausage for cooking over the fire, and I have utensils for said roasting. Steven, I have 12 Cedarwurst and about 19 of the Hungarian (smoked) on hand. You're welcome to bring more if you'd like. I should (if I don't drink it all by then) have some tropical saison and the Brettastic IPA on tap. We'll need buns, sides, deserts. All are encouraged to post what they're bringing here so we don't end up with too much/little of anything.

We're looking forward to having folks out!

The wife and I plan on stopping out but don't know when we will make it. Will be up at the in-laws and don't know when we will be back.
