I spent some time at one of these in Atlanta and it was awesome. Great pizza and fantastic beer selection. Very excited to see one coming to our area.
Mellow Mushroom to open at Coral Ridge
Coral Ridge Mall announces the addition of a new restaurant set to open early next year. Mellow Mushroom is scheduled to open in the former Bennigan's space in February 2015.
Mellow Mushroom is a franchise restaurant featuring pizza, calzones, hoagies and salads. They also feature a variety of craft beers and a beer club where patrons can earn points toward rewards for sampling their favorite beers.
Getting a sit-down family restaurant into the center after Bennigan's closed was a priority for the Coral Ridge leasing team.

The original one was just off campus at Georgia Tech when I was there. Was run by serious hippies. Legend was you could bring in your own "special ingredients" and they'd put it on your pizza. Never did it. Pizza was very good. Don't recall them serving beer back in the day. It was a very small place. Will have to check them out in Coralville sometime and see if I get any "flashbacks" - LOL!!

I've been to the one in Mobile AL; good pizza and always good brews. I thought it was a one shop business. I am not surprised that it is a franchise.

They opened last week. I went there today to have some "pie" on Pi Day. Lots of very good beer on tap (First pint was Furious, Second was Green Flash Soul Style (awesome!), and last pint was Kona Big Wave (hey, it was my 3rd pint on an empty stomach so I had to go with a session!) Had the Holy Shitake pizza. Really good - lots of mushrooms and garlic aioli! Great, friendly staff at the bar. Will be going back there a lot.
