I have had one of those for 7 years and it works well. Slow compared to a thermapen, but it's been rock solid for the price.

Link to Amazon has it back at full price now ($34). Must have been a short sale.

My new thermometer arrived yesterday (PRIME). It's a tad slower than the Thermapen, especially at lower temperatures, but gets faster at higher temps. There is a bonus though over my Thermapen, is that the new one reads out to one decimal place.

$11 off Thermapen right now. They don't sell the brown ones much apparently and discount them.

I can see why. That color is not attractive
