I have read some bad news on the thermopen breaking easily, but always great things about their accuracy. I've emailed them so we will see. I got it as a gift so I may be shit out of luck for exchanging it. Time will tell. Image

It's probably the probe. Also, moisture on the plug or in the socket can throw it off.

Just took it out of the box this morning. I'd assume probe, wish I had another to test that
