Ng-Ka-Py

Post by Sully11 »

Has anyone ever heard of or seen this Chinese liquor anywhere? It was in John Steinbeck's East of Eden and I've been curious to try it, but I can't find it anywhere. Neither Benz nor Hy-Vee W/S can locate it. It's supposed to taste like "good rotten apples" and is also known as Chinese whiskey.

Rotten apples but in a good way? I love that that makes you curious.

Sounds funky! Never heard of it.

I've bought similar funky spirits on the internet. The challenge is usually whether they can ship to IA with our stupid liquor laws. For a recent dinner party, scored some Mongolian Vodka.

I've been able to find it online...but not for sale. Not much other than old bottles and the occasional reference.
