Health issues

Post by JimF »

This has been a bad week. Last Wednesday morning I had a mild heart attack at St Luke's emergency room. Since then I've had triple bypass heart surgery. I'm hoping to get out of the hospital tomorrow.

Among the changes I'll need to take will be not brewing for the next 4 months due to the weight lifting restrictions. For 8 weeks I'm limited to 10 pounds and to 20 pounds for another 8 weeks. I guess I could brew 1 gallon batches.

I'm hoping I'll still be able to go to AHA conference in June but I won't known for 2 more weeks if I'll be cleared to fly.

We were wondering why you weren't at the meeting last Thursday - but DAMN, this is a shocker!

Fingers crossed you get to go to AHA. Was looking forward to drinking much beer with you!!

I think many of us would be more than happy to come over and be your brew bitch for a day to keep you in beer until you're up and running at 100% again! Just ask us!!

I concur with Tony. I would offer to bring you some, but you want something drinkable I presume

All,

Thanks for the kind words and offers to help. My beer supply is holding up well, since it will be another week and a half before I can drink alcohol of any type. Thank God for prescription pharmaceuticals. :)

Once I'm feeling more normal, a relative term for sure, I might try to get some brewing done. I had been planning on doing a Doppelbock for one of our upcoming beer fests. And I haven't done a porter, american brown, or an ESB for awhile... I'm planning to keg my last IPA this weekend with some help from a neighbor. I'm not sure how it will be since the 4 days of dry hopping is now at 2 weeks...
