Why does this have to be on Great Taste weekend? Sounds fun but I will be in Madison. Not sure how "Dude" you can be in the high school auditorium either.

Historic Tipton building calls on 'The Dude' for help

An association raising money to restore an historic building in Tipton will screen the 1998 cult-classic "The Big Lebowski" this summer at an event that will include a costume contest, live music and bowling.

The Hardacre "Big Lebowski" Festival will begin at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 8 at the Tipton High School auditorium, 400 E. Sixth St., Tipton.

"Hardacre fundraising events double as a look into the kinds of events we want to bring to Tipton on a regular basis when the Hardacre Theater is fully renovated," HTPA President Greg Brown said in a press release. "We think the Hardacre 'Big Lebowski' Festival will not only be fun for Tipton residents but will attract movie lovers from all over the region, just like the renovated Hardacre will attract them to Tipton."
