Boucherie @ BackPocket

Post by tony b »

Boucharie - Presented by LV+BP+Carl Blake
June 27th: 12:00-8:00

We are happy to host Carl Blake and Rustik Rooster farms for our first Boucherie. The event will feature four different breeds of craft pork: Iowa Swabian Hall, Iowa Black Beauty, Mulefoot, and Red Wattle. The most famous of these is the Swabian Hall, for which we have brewed a special beer, our own Swabian Hall Smoked Brown. Each hog brings its own unique flavor to the mix. Come find out just what "craft pork" really means. Supplies are limited so purchase your platter now.

Ran into Tom Tapp and his wife there. Tasty piggies! Only got to try 2 of the 4 different breeds (mulefoot and red wattle), as they did them serially, as each one got eaten. Wasn't patient enough to wait out the other 2, as the crowd had died down. I was bummed that I didn't get to try the mangalitsa one.

The did them "La Caja China" style. So, instead of pigs in a blanket, they were pigs in a coffin!
