Overkill?

This is on the slowest setting with a 2" stir bar. Maybe their claim you can make a starter in a 5 gallon vessel is not exaggerating. Do you think it will be up to the task of making my 500ml starters?

Hmm. That's a good idea with the 5 gallon bucket. But I perfer to make a smaller beer to start my huge beers

Did you buy it Randy? It's crossed my mind to get one, but haven't heard much good or bad about them

Yeah. My stir plate was dying so I needed to replace it. I decided not to go cheap with another fan motor based one. I found this and decided to give it a shot. It's kind of bulky and probably way more powerful than I need. In case you can't make it out in the video, that's stirring over 1400ml of water.

I broke my 2L and now have. 3L flask and my fan motor struggles to spin it above the 2L mark once the yeast really builds up. Nothing wrong with overkill [emoji106]

They're made by Northern Brewer I think. I actually bought it from Amazon. It would have been a buck or two cheaper with shipping from NB, but with Prime I know exactly when it will show up.
