I'm planning to brew a session IPA on my Zymatic this Saturday if anyone is interested in seeing this system in action. I'll also probably hang out in the back yard and enjoy some beers since the weather looks great. I normally get started around 10 am, but am willing to delay the start if you let me know you're coming.
For those who haven't been here before here's the address. Most GPS's and Google will take you right to my door. I live in a little log cabin development off of Fairview (County Home) Rd close to Stone City. Very easy to get to from either CR or Marion.

So is the brew session basically load it up, turn it on, and start drinking?
Re: Zymatic brew Saturday the 16th
It can be, but it doesn't have to be. The basic wort production part can happen mostly without supervision if you want it to. I find that I spend a little more time on the planning stage, less time during the mash and boil babysitting, and about the same amount of time post boil for whirlpooling, wort chilling and cleaning. The biggest change for me is that it's more repeatable and the brew day is a little more relaxed. I can either get things done (I brew a lot on work days since I work at home) or just hang out.TappedOut wrote:So is the brew session basically load it up, turn it on, and start drinking?
At the end of the day it's another tool for making wort. Perhaps more automated than traditional all grain, but many people's electric systems are not that much different just on a bigger scale. I've found it to be a fun way to brew that's gotten me really excited about brewing again. I can brew inside if I want to and I don't have to stand over it all day.
