So here's a kickstarter for a stainless autosiphon. A friend of mine goes to the homebrew shop of the guys who invented it. He saw the prototype today and said it's really solid.

Cool, but all the low end pledges are closed.

Cool idea. I must admit I have an autosiphon but rarely use it. It has been regulated to moving beer from the barrels. It introduces more air in to the beer than what I use now.
If you use carboys, glass or plastic, this is how you should siphon. I have been doing this for a long time and it is superior in so many ways. You could even adapt it to work on buckets and I made a two hole #10 stopper to use on my 7 gallon Fermonsters. Cheap upgrade. Pretty sure most parts you need can be found at BIY.

Yeah I don't use mine much anymore either since I've moved away from carboys. I've kicked in to a few KS campaigns and learned to be wary when they don't have someone with manufacturing experience on the team. They end up taking years rather than months. That's the best case.

I just bought a 7 gallon Fermonster. The thing is a beast.

Do you force CO2 through that then, or use something like an aquarium pump? I suppose if you are concerned about O2.. then CO2... I'll have to build something like that up for at least my 6 gallon PET carboy and the Fermonster... good idea in any case...

I blow through a sterile filter on my carboys. Does not take much to get it going. Have not tried on the Fermonster yet but will be by the end of the week.

That stainless unit looks pretty nice. It would not be too hard to setup a CO2 feed to initially push the beer out and then provide CO2 replacement volume for the displaced beer.
You also have spigots on your Fermonsters, do you ever use them now?

Using a fermonster right now. I do have the spigot on them and like it a lot. Have not had issues with them.
